Welcome to Salve Regina School
Salve Regina is an educational institution situated in the rural lands of Kikuyu.
It is registered as a Charity under the Ministry of Social Services of the Republic of Kenya.
The School provides very low cost but good education to young children who live in the area and particularly those from the neighbouring sprawling shauri yako slum.
Christian principles based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are also taught.
Many parents are unable to provide packed lunch for their children. The School struggles to provide what it can from its meagre resources.
Thus far it has a kindergarten and a standard one class with a total student of forty students, taught by four teachers.
Plans are underway to put up another class towards the end of 2008 to accomodate the standard two class which commences lessons January 2009.
Salve Regina relies on donations to keep running and as such, donations are always welcome.
In July 2008, the School was honoured and very grateful to receive a donation of books, toys, stationery and clothes from Ken Okoth, a teacher in the United States who also runs a school for the underpriviled in the Kibera Slums of Nairobi.
May God bless you all.
